As a Canadian I am well aware of the failure of our government to help any Canadian who runs into trouble outside Canada. And you don’t have to be an “accused terrorist” like Khadr to realize that a Canadian passport outside Canada means nothing to our Canadian government. Most Canadians are aware of this from the many times our government has said “tough luck” to countless Candians who have problems outside the country. Google: “canadians in trouble overseas” and you’ll get a bit of the picture.
