And this was Tristan's reply:

Dear Mr. Worthington,

Go for it! Plaster it on your site, Huffington Post, anywhere! People need to be reminded of this fact! It didn't matter whether LBJ or Nixon was in office during Vietnam, nor should it matter whether Bush or Obama is in office either! War is war, and innocent people are dying; rights are being violated; soldiers are losing limbs and sanity; our budgets are exploding; and nothing is being done!

Wars are started by the powerful, but fought by the powerless; the health of the State; a heart-breaker; a racket; and mankind's greatest shame. This should offend the sensibilities of any honorable human being, whoever they are. Our moral characters are tried by war; those who support them enthusiastically reveal their moral bankruptcy and psychopathology.

Yes, please post my comments.

In Liberty,

This was my reply:

Hi Tristan,
Thanks for the message, and thanks for noticing that, when it comes to peace and opposing torture, the alliance is -- or should be -- between liberals, progressives, decent conservatives, libertarians, communists, Christians, Muslims, other faith groups and (although this is harder to achieve!) 9/11 truthers. I have time for everyone who's on the right path!
May I post your comments on my site, to see if anyone wants to get a conversation going?
Best,
Andy

A few days ago, I received the following encouraging message, and I think here is an appropriate place to post it:

Dear Mr. Worthington,

You really get around: you work for a libertarian think-tank; write articles for The Huffington Post, Antiwar.com, and lewrockwell.com (that's all over the map!); and publish books under Pluto Press, a notorious publisher of the revolutionary left. I admire your dedication to peace; I wish more were like you. Lefties, (antiwar) Righties, and Libertarians may disagree with each on most things. But, when a war is on, these voices stand united for peace. Arguing over the minutiae of economics and the proper role of government is rather petty in these trying times. Hopefully, the antiwar movement will get its bearings
back.

Sincerely,
