Thanks, Kabuli. Always good to hear from you, and to have your insights. And yes, "interview" is rather misplaced isn't it? Although in this world of twisted words, it effortlessly joins "detainees" and "enhanced interrogation" and "we don't torture" ...

What a wonderful victory, and what incredible lessons of human dignity and ethics one ex-prisoner after the other are giving us : first Moazzam Begg after the hysterical attacks on him and Cageprisoners since last Sunday, now Binyam Mohamed who does not want the MI5 agent who caused him so much suffering, to be sacrificed as a scapegoat.
I wonder whether they realize just how inspiring they are, how much they give to us, while having received so exceptionally little themselves.

Maybe there is some justice after all, and if our democracies one day will come back to life, they will certainly owe a lot to people like yourself, the lawyers and judges who have retained their ethical values, and the victims who find it in their hearts to choose reconciliation instead of revenge.

PS : With all due respect to the contents of the Judges' statement, how on earth did political correctness get brutal interrogation to be termed 'interview' ?!

Willy Bach wrote:

Binyam Mohamed's torture has the blood-stained hand-print of David Miliband and the entire British government all over it. If Britain want (so much) to be the poodle in the US Imperial alliance, they will find that they will be branded with the same abysmally low standards of conduct that pertain to their senior partner -- and they can eventually face court in The Hague (if the USAF haven't bombed it by then).

If you say you do not agree with torture you have to act accordingly. There is no half-way point for collaborators.
