United States citizens should muster the grit, guts and courage to bring the prisoners we hold in Cuba into prisons here and then decide what to do with them using the laws we have available in this fine democracy that was formed in part to reject prison terms imposed without a formal charge or trial. The entire Guantánamo Naval Base should be returned to the Cubans, after the prison is turned into clean, green fields. A very large payment should quickly be given Cuba, as a bonus rent premium with full commitment to clean any mess or pollution. Cuba also should be given substantial foreign aid directed at shelter, clinics, libraries, schools, public transportation, potable water and sanitation design which returns waste to the soil and eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers. We need all the international friendship we can make and this will earn great respect throughout the Americas.
