Davis has not always (even within this past year) been a champion of free speech, or  as you say the  &quot;soul of discretion regarding his former role as the Chief Prosecutor of the Commissions&quot;  he went so far as to blatantly bully colleagues to censor and suppress views not to his liking....see:

I have little doubt that Col. Davis will be vindicated one way or another-- whether more intelligent heads prevail and reverse this stupid decision, or whether it takes a law suit.</description>
