There’s an incredible amount of information on your website and, for my purposes, I need to set aside the political, cultural, religious, etc. issues for a moment. I have been conducting research over the past year regarding PTSD/TBI and the Metabolic Connection. I am also in the process of putting a natural protocol together because the pharmaceuticals that are being used to treat what psychiatry has been diagnosing as PTSD are not only not effective… but potentially quite harmful… both with regards to any current symptoms as well as the future health of those with these conditions.

Do you know where I might find resources of information that strictly deal with the physical, cognitive and emotional symptoms that the detainees have been experiencing… both those that are still detained as well as those that have been released? What I’m looking for is the kind of detail that most physicians, psychiatrists and psychologists might very well overlook. I know what’s going on with their health… but I need further confirmation for my research and the theory that I will be proposing as soon as it is completed. This is not only for the sake of the detainees… but also for veterans and civilians as well. One little known fact about PTSD is that twice as many women in the U.S. are diagnosed with it than men… even though it is generally thought of as related to veterans. Likewise… there are a good number of kids, particularly minorities and those in lower socioeconomic groups…. who are also suffering with the effects of this. And while I am relatively certain that there is not a whole lot of sympathy for those who committed these barbaric acts of torture… they too are very likely going to experience a similar fate… even though it will probably not show up until some time down the road. This is a very complex health problem and I have quite a bit of insight into some of what has been going on with both those who have been tortured as well as the ones that were doing the torturing. My roll in this is as a researcher and healer… and in order to do that most effectively I have to let others deal with the political and legal issues. My concern at this point is trying to help these people as much and as quickly as I can.

One other thing that I am interested in knowing has to do with the issue of electroshock treatments or ECT. As soon as I saw Sami al-Haj’s drawings… I suspected that this was a good possibility. There were other things that I noticed in his drawings as well that gave me some additional clues as to some of what was going on. Did he receive ECT in Guantanamo…. and if so… who performed it? Was it a psychologist, a psychiatrist or another medical personnel… and was it done by U.S. military or by someone privately contracted?

There is another, and more positive way of viewing what they have been through. I’m not at all minimizing their suffering or suggesting that those who are responsible should not be held accountable. There was indeed great suffering and damage done to these human beings… but in order to bring about healing for them… they are going to have to reframe their experience and also turn to alternative means of medicine than what is currently being provided for them.

And I know this because I am dealing with some of the very same things myself.

I can also tell you one thing for certain… any detainees that are still on a hunger strike or those who have been released and have returned to their former diet are in grave danger regarding their health… both now and in the future. The liquid nutrition that they’ve been feeding them is not nearly sufficient to meet their caloric needs and they need to be eating as much protein as possible and particularly meat (high in B vitamins)… along with salt (preferably sea salt), and the best quality lower carbohydrate vegetables that they can. Fruits should be more limited… but include lots of citrus and berries… for vitamin C and antioxidants. They also need to be eating small meals very frequently… more of a hypoglycemic diet… but also with a lot of fat. Some of them may very well be experiencing what are known as psychogenic seizures… and a ketogenic diet has been shown to be quite helpful for this. Here are a few sources of information…

I can tell you that most if not all of any lab work or tests that they might have are going to come back within normal limits. This has been part of the problem regarding treatment and therapies for these conditions… and it’s not just happening with the detainees…. but with vets and civilians as well. The current allopathic model of medicine is simply unequipped to effectively deal with these problems. I’m going to do everything I possibly can in order to change that!

Sadly, holding those responsible to account is even more difficult than establishing the facts — and even the latter seems to involve convincing US and UK citizens, one by one …
