One wonders about the people called on to carry out such orders. One by one they could, of course, be coerced. But if they all as a group just laughed in the face of the person giving the crazy order and said, "No way, there's just no way I'm doing that," the whole house of cards would come tumbling down. Why don't people just use their common sense?

It's too late for the people we've already hurt in these terrible ways. We can never take that away, though we should try to help them heal. I think we could start by asking them what services and resources they feel they would need to feel better, to feel good again. Whatever they answer should be given and much, much more.

Will it be expensive? Does it matter? Take it right off the top line of the Bush/Cheney executive compensation package. And if that's not enough, keep going down the line until we get it done.
