I've seen this kind of thing on literary blogs (I'm thinking particularly of The Reading Experience), wherein two (or more) critics will respond to the same text and post dueling or side-by-side reviews. Interesting to see where the overlaps are as well as the distinctions made. And there's nothing like another mind at work on the same issues to refresh one's thinking and enthusiasm for a familiar topic and sharpen one's analytical rapier. I'm all for this kind of swordplay. I would go so far as to say that I find it breathtakingly exciting. I wish journalists of all stripes would engage each other in this boldly challenging way. I can’t tell you how impressed I am by this co-post.
