Dear Sir:

I hope you, with your background in journalism and the subject of "enhanced interrogation" (EI), will address ABC News' recent appalling attempt to validate EI (http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=3978231&page=1) by citing perhaps the single case where it seemed to work well, if you don't look beneath surface appearances. ABC might otherwise lead people to conclude that EI is effective, as much as we might loathe to admit that it is, or to endorse its use by our intelligence agencies. This would lead to a tacit policy of allowing its use by those with the stomach for it - i.e. sadistic psychopaths. But the fact is that it is not effective, and is actually highly counterproductive, besides being highly immoral and just downright evil. This must be made clear, and we must not allow our governments to claim in the slightest that it is effective.
